Allah says in His Noble Book: "So by mercy from Allah, you were gentle with them. And if you had been harsh and hard-hearted, they would have dispersed from around you. So pardon them, ask forgiveness for them, and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah." (Surah Al-Imran, 159)\nGentleness is kindness in dealings and the opposite of violence. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was the gentlest of people and the farthest from harshness and severity. Whoever adopts this noble trait attains great reward from Allah and finds his path easier and smoother.\nThe Prophet ﷺ said: “Indeed Allah is gentle and loves gentleness. He grants through gentleness what He does not grant through harshness or anything else.”\nGentleness in speech and action, choosing what is easiest, handling matters with wisdom, and placing things in their proper positions all make goals easier to achieve.\nAllah is gentle with His servants; He desires ease for them, not hardship. He does not burden them beyond their capacity, but rather pardons them and treats them with kindness. When relationships are built on cooperation, good character, and tolerance of mistakes with kindness and grace, everything becomes ideal and beautiful.\nHuman beings possess both intellect and soul. The closer the soul is to Allah, the more it draws mercy, kindness, and fairness from Him. Gentleness is the reflection of mercy in the heart, and mercy manifests as softness and kindness in behavior. The gentle person is beloved by all who deal with him.\nMercy is required from everyone: from fathers to children, husbands to wives, teachers to students, employers to employees, and every leader to those under their care—even from humans toward nature, animals, and resources—so that society may be one of gentleness, mercy, and justice.\nThrough gentleness and mercy, life flourishes with love, tolerance, and fairness, and Allah’s pleasure and mercy descend upon us.\n\nAuthor: Imad al-Din Joudat Dalati
